OPINION – Times have changed and we live in an era where Women are reduced to mere liabilities that need protecting and providing for .
We are faced with a complex gender war that only spews more disorder and destruction of our civilisation.
Precolonial Africa clearly shows a defined Society of a people that valued humanity and had less room for gender desparities and struggles.
It should be commom knowledge to understand that the existence of humans is only complete because we are and the we here stands for males and females.

It is Sad that we have come to a place where we invest time and space to discuss if we or how we should exist and who must have an upper hand in our affairs.
It is Precolonial Africa that teaches us that leadership was nartured and was a trait embedded on our DNA and it did not look at gender as a measure for Qualification.
We now see that even giving a Woman a seat at the table of a hundred men is something newsworthy and something that counts as achievement because we have made it so Uncommon and unheard of to trust Women for our leadership affairs and I must say that we are already paying the price for that.
From the history of Busongora which by the ways clearly explains the origin of our existence before any baundaries were drawn, and before colonialism came into play is a clear chronological order that tells that empires existed here including but to not limited to the Batembuzi,Axum, Shenzi , Kemet(Egypt),and the Bacwezi.
In all Of these empires we see the evident existence Of leadership based on merit and not gender balance . We do not see anywhere that shows a Woman is being given a leadership post just to pacify the curiosity Of the female population .
It is all based on merit and Succession heirachy that recognised the talents, abilities, talents and gifts Of the Women and supported them to lead their communities.
Women like Empresses kudid,Kogyere,Makeda and others present in the best sense an undesputed ability Of Women founding, leading and managing dynasties and empires and some Of whom actually put up resistances against foreign invasions with the Greatest remarkable successes.
In some Precolonial African Societies like in the Ashanti Kingdom we see Matrilineal systems where Women are the silent power often postured as Queen Mothers.
In the Ashanti Kingdom we see a Queen Mother named Yaa Asantewa taking command for the war against colonial thefts Of the Golden stool a very special regalia in the Ashanti culture.
The fight to reclaim the lost African glory must be approached with all ancient knowledge and history. The colonial writers Of our history make every effort to convice the unsuspecting Africans that our story begins when colonialism begun often depicting as a savage and uncivilised People but history proves Them wrong. Colonialism happens after a Series Of Invasions and slavery that had greatly declined our once powerful empires. The colonialism story tellers Will reduce us to pre colonial kingdoms who were only a result Of The disintegrated empires Of the Ancient.
Our story only told by us Can give us a clear Direction for greatness looking at how great we once were.
In most Of our story is a Woman who is hell Bent on safe guarding our soveriegnity using strong spiritual and cultural prowess.
In the colonial designs, reducing this Woman into a mere object Of sexual ideas and weakness was what would break the backbone Of Africa.
We have a Challenge to restore our Women to go back to the Original and help Build back our lost glory.
