Ntungamo, Uganda – Hon. Naome Kabasharira, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Rushenyi County, has received overwhelming support from leaders and residents in her bid for re-election.
Although there’s no direct confirmation of her securing the NRM flag for the Rushenyi County MP race on June 17, 2025, her recent endorsement by Rushenyi leaders showcases her dedication to serving the constituency.
During the Eishazi rya’Rushenyi (Rushenyi Parliament) assembly held on March 15, 2025, leaders from Local Council 1 to Local Council 5 unanimously endorsed Kabasharira for another term as Member of Parliament. The event, chaired by Vincent Tugume, District Councilor for Kayonza Sub-County, highlighted Kabasharira’s exceptional leadership and commitment to the constituency.
Kabasharira’s campaign promises are centered around delivering better services to the people of Rushenyi. She aims to “hit the ground running” and transform healthcare, improve infrastructure, empower education, and foster economic growth. Her key initiatives include:
– Upgrading Rubare Health Center IV to a community hospital and expanding health camps with an efficient ambulance system, “leaving no stone unturned” in her quest for quality healthcare.
– Upgrading critical roads like the Rubare-Kisiizi route and constructing Akabare Bridge, “paving the way” for economic growth and development.
– Continuing the bursary scheme and lobbying for a seed school in Rugarama North, “sowing the seeds” of a brighter future for the next generation.
– Finalizing funds for the Rugarama North Sub-County headquarters and renovating government secondary schools, “building a foundation” for a prosperous Rushenyi.
