RUKIGA – Police in Rukiga are hunting for an unknown motor vehicle that knocked dead a 67 years old pedestrian.
The accident happened on Wednesday 22nd May 2024 at about 7:30pm, at Kitaburaza cell along Kabale Ntungamo highway in Rukiga district and claimed the life of one
Mbetabaitu Christopher mukiga by tribe a resident of Kitaburaza cell Nyakabengo parish Bukinda Sub County in Rukiga district.
It’s alleged that the victim is said to have been crossing the road coming from a near by junction to his home just few meters while drunk and he was knocked down by a speeding car and he died on spot.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate said police was notified, visited and documented the scene, the body was taken to his home and cause of the accident primarily was careless pedestrian.
