Mitooma, Uganda – Incumbent Ruhinda South Member of Parliament, Hon. Captain Mugabe Dononzio Kahonda, has announced his independent candidacy for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Kahonda, who has served two terms since the constituency’s creation, attributed his decision to alleged irregularities in the recently concluded National Resistance Movement (NRM) primaries.
In an interview with www.theserverug.com, Kahonda cited the participation of unregistered voters, including school children, and manipulation of results as key reasons for his move. He alleges these irregularities favored the provisional winner of the primaries, Arthur Atuhwereire Kazoora.
