MITOOMA – Police in Mitooma district have started investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a yet to be identified man who is alleged to have been murdered in Nyamiyaga 1, Kirembe Parish in Katenga Sub County.
The suspected murder incident happened at around 11pm in the night of 17th January 2025 and suspects are also still atlarge.
On 18th January 2025 at around 10am, Sp Olum Samuel DPC Mitooma received information from Tumwesigye Deus on telephone number 0782152010 that a dead body was found dumped in the eucalyptus forest neighbouring that of Sajja Babisigaho. The report was registered at CPS Mitooma and inquiries commenced immediately.
Scene of crime was visited , police sniffer dog introduced to the scene of crime and it tracked for about 150 meters but lost track. Exhibits of a broken knife with blood stains was recovered.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident stressing that the body was taken to Kitagata Hospital Mortuary for Pos mortem as police inquiries continue.
