The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) says it is building new infrastructure to address water supply challenges affecting customers.
According to Managing Director Dr Eng. Silver Mugisha, the prolonged dry spell, mushrooming developments and rapidly rising demand for water services in the Kampala Metropolitan Service Area and other operational areas have strained the water supply system.
Consequently, some customers, especially those on the periphery of the network, have experienced supply challenges.

The Government, through NWSC, is investing in new infrastructure across the Kampala water supply network to resolve the problem.

In Kampala, NWSC is implementing the Katosi Package 2B project, among other interventions, to stabilise supply across the metropolitan area.

Mugisha said a number of projects are nearing completion, and water supply across the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area is expected to progressively return to normal, with a steadier and more reliable flow once the projects are commissioned.
NWSC has appreciated customers for their patience and understanding as it works to improve reliability.
