Ntungamo,Uganda – Members of the Ntungamo NRM elders’ group “Mzee Tova Ku Main” have expressed excitement ahead of President-elect Yoweri Museveni’s inauguration for a seventh elective term, scheduled for 12th May at Kololo Independence Grounds.
President Museveni won the 15th January presidential election with 71.6% of the vote, according to Electoral Commission results, defeating seven other contenders.
Chairperson Karuhanga Munyangabo said the group is finalizing plans to join delegates in Kampala to witness the swearing-in of their long-serving party chairperson. “We are proud to attend the inauguration of President Museveni after his landslide victory in the 2026 general election,” he said.

Karuhanga praised the government under President Museveni for rolling out programs aimed at lifting Ugandans from poverty into the money economy. He also thanked Presidential Advisor on Agriculture and Local Affairs, Ms. Peace Rugambwa, for pledging a bus to transport members to Kololo.
He commended the group’s commitment to party activities despite financial constraints among members.
Coordinator Ms. Doreen Nayija hailed President Museveni’s leadership since 1986 as “perfect,” noting that Uganda has moved from a backward past to visible development and greater national unity. She added that his tenure has brought human emancipation, with women now actively participating in leadership, reflecting improved gender balance.
Treasurer Nathan Muhoozi credited Museveni’s landslide victory partly to the mobilization efforts of Mzee Tova Ku Main in Ntungamo. He pledged the group’s continued support for all NRM flag bearers and confirmed their readiness to attend the 12th May swearing-in ceremony.
