BUSHENYI ,UGANDA – President Yoweri Museveni has allocated land for the establishment of two industrial parks in Ankole and an industrial hub in Bushenyi District
Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, announced the development on Tuesday while representing President Museveni at the burial of the late Mrs. Edna Kentaro Baryaruha in Bushenyi.

Tayebwa said Bushenyi District has provided 70 acres of land in Kyeizoba for an industrial hub.

“As people of Ankole, the President has given us an industrial hub. It will be set up in Kyeizoba. The district has given us 70 acres. We shall start working on it very soon,” Tayebwa said.
He added that the President has allocated five square miles in Ruhengyere and another five square miles in Nakivale, Isingiro District, for industrial parks.
“The President has given us two industrial parks. He wrote to me. He has given me five square miles of land for an industrial park in Ruhengyere, which will deal with the processing of foodstuffs. He has also given me five square miles in Nakivale, Isingiro. All these are in writing,” he said.
The announcement is seen as a step towards fulfilling President Museveni’s campaign pledge to establish an industrial park in Ankole to promote value addition and job creation.
Tayebwa said the facilities will spur development and create thousands of jobs, especially for youth graduating from universities and other institutions.
“These will spur meaningful development in Ankole and generate thousands of jobs for our youth graduating from universities,” he noted.
He cited Mbale Industrial Park, which has created over 1,000 jobs, as an example of the potential impact.
The proposed park in Ruhengyere will focus on food processing, aligning with Ankole’s strong agricultural base in dairy, coffee, livestock and food production.
If implemented, the hub and parks are expected to promote processing of local raw materials, create new markets for farmers, and expand opportunities for transporters, suppliers, and small businesses across the sub-region.
