MITOOMA – Police in Mitooma district are actively hunting for a 30 year old man identified as Muhumuza Gerrald 30 years a resident of Rucence B Village in Kanyabwanga for murdering two people over love affairs.
The deceased are Turyasingura Stephen 28 years a security guard with Chita Security Company and Amutuhaire Fortunate 11 years pupil at Nyandago Primary School a daughter to Asiimwe Sylivia resident of Nyandago B village in Kanyabwanga Sub County Mitooma district.
Its reported that on 25th August 2024 at around 3am Asiimwe Sylivia was sleeping with Turyasingura Stephen (Man lover) together with Amutuhaire Fortune , then the assailant came and started calling Asiimwe to open and when he refused, he broke the door and moved direct to the bedroom where he attempted to stab her though she dodged and ran outside making an alarm and the assailant stabbed Turyasingura Stephen.
In the process, Amutuhaire Fortune also woke up and followed her mother while alarming. However, the assailant chased them grabbing Amutuheire Fortune thus stabbing her severally, as rescuers came they found when the assailant had fled the scene and Amutuhaire passed on while being taken to hospital. Turyasingura Stephen was also found dead on the road side.
Inquiries were opened vide Kanyabwanga Police Station SD ref 02/25/08/2024 and later Mitooma CRB 504/2024, crime scene visited by a team of officers and bodies taken to Mitooma Health Center IV for postmortem.
It was established that both Muhumuza (suspect) and Turyasingura (deceased) were in love with Asiimwe Sylivia and she could host them at different times at her place of residence.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed this incident to press stressing that police are still tracing for the suspect and are yet to recover the killer weapon.
