Katunguru, Rubirizi – A 48-year-old motorcyclist died instantly on April 21st after colliding with a stationary vehicle in Katunguru trading center.
Police have confirmed that Kadenge Innocent, a resident of Kyenzanza Kirugu sub-county, Rubirizi District, was riding his Bajaj Boxer motorcycle from Kasese towards Kyambura when the accident occurred around 8 pm.
The impact with the stationary Scania truck (registration number T951B/T818AS) resulted in the motorcyclist’s death at the scene.
Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident and reported that the Scania truck driver fled the scene.
Investigating officers, led by IP Twebaze, visited the scene, transported the body to Rugazi Health Centre IV mortuary, and impounded the motorcycle pending inspection. The Scania truck remains at the scene awaiting towing. Police inquiries into the accident are ongoing.
