MITOOMA – A 48 year old man has been detained by Mitooma Police for allegedly cutting a 55 year old woman to death.
The suspect is Byaruhanga Charles who murdered Gabikwenda Dinah all residents of Iraramira 2 village, Iraramira Parish, Kiyanga Sub County in Mitooma district.
Its alleged that the suspect had earlier told the area leader Tumuheirwe Gorette that the deceased should stop destroying his property or else something dangerous happens to her and this website has informed that the area chairperson informed her (now deceased).
On the 20th April 2024 at 1am, the deceased was attacked and severely cut then rushed to Kampala International University hospital Ishaka at around 9am but on 25th April she was pronounced dead at Mbarara Regional Refferal Hospital where she had been reffered.
Inquiries were instituted vide Sd Ref 03/20/04/2024 of Iraramira Police post, PF3 form issued and retrieved as the scene was visited and documented by soco then PF 48A and B issued for postmortem.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed this regretfull incident and said the suspect who was the neighbour to the deceased is now in custody as police inquiries continue.
