RUBIRIZI – Police in Rubirizi district are hunting for a man identified as Ssebayinda Francis a resident of Kigyezi Village, Ndekye ward in Rubirizi Town Council over attempted murder.
Its reported that the suspect on Sunday 1st September 2024 at around 4pm used a panga to cut Ainomugisha Anita 30 years a resident of Kikuba cell in Kabeti ward on the head and back injuring her severally before fleeing the scene.
Its alleged that on 31st August the victim went to her father inlaw’s place to help her mother inlaw harvest coffee and on Sunday at around 4pm the suspect attacked and cut her with a panga on the head and back and also tried to cut the mother but neighbours came to the rescue but the suspect had already ran away.
It has been established that the suspect sold his share of family land last month and wasted all the money and when he came to sell another piece of land, the family refused him to do so which prompted him to act they way he did.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed this incident to press stressing that the victim is receiving treatment at KIU Hospital Ishaka but in a critical condition and police inquiries are still at hand vide RBZ 356/2024.
