RUBIRIZI, UGANDA – Rubirizi district Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the suspected murder of Tumuhereze Saverino, a 40-year-old male resident of Kagando village, Kyabakara sub-county, Rubirizi district.
Preliminary findings indicate that on November 6, 2025, at Eden Trading Center, Rushoro Village, Rugarama Parish, Kirinya Deo, a 32-year-old male resident of Rutondo village, allegedly assaulted the deceased after finding him with his wife in a bar. The victim became unconscious and was taken to Kyabakara Health Center III, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The incident is under investigation, and the suspect is in custody. Police managed the scene and will provide further updates as the investigation progresses. The police spokesperson, Sp. Tayebwa Apollo, condemned the act and pledged to produce the suspect in court if evidence is gathered.
The body remains at the health center pending a post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
