Ntungamo,Uganda – The Ntungamo Municipality Member of Parliament, Hon. Gerald Karuhanga Kafureeka, flanked by his Political Assistant Hon. Juliet Mpamize Nyonsyaboona who is also the Western Division District Councillor, on Saturday 26th September 2026 fulfilled part of his campaign pledges by commissioning a water project in Nyamisha Cell, Western Division, and a road and bridge in the neighbouring Kakukuuru village in Ntungamo Sub-County.
While handing over the water project in Nyamisha Cell, Hon. Karuhanga said it was one of his campaign pledges to the area after residents faced a prolonged water crisis. He noted that residents will now access safe and clean water, which will help reduce water-borne diseases such as bilharzia and typhoid. He however urged residents to jealously protect the facility so that it serves them for a long time.
The Nyamisha Cell LC1 Chairperson, James Kagweegwe, hailed Hon. Karuhanga for being a faithful and development-oriented leader who fulfils his promises, and pledged continued support for him.

Hon. Juliet Mpamize Nyonsyaboona thanked the residents for electing a proven, tested and trusted leader who is committed to ensuring his people live a dignified life.
Speaking on behalf of the excited residents, Mpamize Johnson Kahamba lauded Hon. Karuhanga for being a resilient leader who has started delivering services in less than three months in office.
Hon. Karuhanga later proceeded to Kakukuuru village where residents welcomed him with traditional dances as he launched a road and a bridge he personally constructed to ease transport in the area.
The village Chairperson, Stanley Burooro, praised Hon. Karuhanga as a generous, truthful and dependable leader who never forgets his people. He noted that although Kakukuuru is located in Ntungamo Sub-County, Ruhaama County, the village has suffered marginalization in service delivery, prompting residents to appeal to Hon. Karuhanga to help them and to consider the possibility of being annexed to the Municipality.
In response, Hon. Karuhanga promised to follow up on their request together with fellow leaders so that they can also benefit from the national cake in terms of service delivery.
