KAMWENGE, UGANDA – The spirit in Kamwenge District is high, and the NRM family is stronger than ever.
Yesterday, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, together with Eng. Jonard, the NRM Vice Chairperson for Western Uganda; Hon. Frank Tumwebaze, the dynamic NRM Chairperson for Kamwenge; and his Vice Chairperson, Ambrose Byoona, successfully brought together and reconciled competing groups that had emerged from the recent NRM primaries.
Tayebwa expressed his delight that several colleagues who had been nominated chose to graciously step down in support of the party’s flag bearers—a true show of unity and teamwork.

“A big thank-you goes to my colleague, Hon. Tumwebaze, for the outstanding work he has been doing. We were simply building on the solid foundation he laid, and without his guidance and collaboration, today’s success would not have been possible,” Tayebwa said.
In 2021, President Museveni scored an impressive 94% in Kamwenge District, and with this renewed energy and unity, Tayebwa is confident that in 2026 they can come even closer to 100%.
Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa continues to mobilize for the NRM, uniting both independents and party flag bearers as the district builds momentum towards the next general election.
