Bushenyi, Uganda – GodfreyKwikiriza Katsikano, Publicity Secretary for Kyeizooba Sub-County, has urged Ugandans to resist the temptation of exchanging their votes for money if they desire quality services in their communities.
Speaking to a reporter in Bushenyi on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, Katsikano, a resident of Bwera, Kyeizooba Sub-County in Igara East, highlighted his candidacy for the Bushenyi NRM Publicity Secretary position. He is a nominated candidate.
Katsikano faces strong competition from other hopefuls, including the popular BFM Radio journalist, now Enganjani Rogers Apuuli. The election is scheduled for Friday, May 23, 2025, at Bushenyi Main Stadium.

He expressed gratitude to those Ugandans who have consistently voted according to their conscience, rejecting candidates who offer monetary incentives in exchange for support, ultimately leading to poor service delivery. “Let’s banish money from our elections,” he stated.
If elected, Katsikano will serve on the District Executive Committee, which includes the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, General Secretary, Finance Secretary, and Publicity Secretary. The committee also comprises the Administrative Secretary, NRM Members of Parliament, NRM Mayors, and District Chairpersons, who serve as ex-officio members.
End.
