Bushenyi,Uganda – Come 14th May 2026, Bushenyi District will not only swear in a proactive, development-oriented leader, but also renew its trust in a rare brand of leadership brilliance embodied by Hon. Annet for another five years.
Hon. Annet stands out as one of the few women legislators in Ankole and across Western Uganda who weathered the political storm of 15th January. Her victory in the just concluded elections is a true testament to the adage, _you reap what you sow_. She sowed service delivery, humanity, love, care, and selflessness, and the people repaid her at the ballot.
Despite concerted efforts by anti-progressive forces to deny Bushenyi strong leadership, her footprint in the lives of residents spoke louder. If we are honest, Bushenyi needs Hon. Annet more than she needs it. Her past five years in Bushenyi politics have been defined by zeal and dedication to transforming lives.

Guided by her philosophy, _“If you are alive, ask yourself how those who come after you will know you were here,”_ Hon. Annet has rolled out development initiatives that not only reflect her goodwill but have quenched the people’s thirst for better service delivery. The Akabox savings scheme, now in every Bushenyi village, has become a quiet revolution against poverty. Through it, families have pooled small savings into school fees, hospital bills, bank loan repayments, home upgrades, and new financial independence. Testimonies continue to pour in from all corners of the district.
Her targeted projects for youth and women, including poultry and goat enterprises, have turned idle hands into productive ones. Youth idleness has reduced, and with women earning their own income, household pressure has eased, financial independence has grown, and domestic tensions have declined.
Hon. Annet has also touched the everyday essentials of life. It is hard to find a school in Bushenyi that hasn’t felt her support. As a teacher at heart, she believes no country outgrows its education system. Her investments in school infrastructure have lifted education standards across the district. In health, she has lobbied for hospital expansion, drug supplies, and staffing, living out the belief that _a healthy mind is a wealthy mind_. On water access, her advocacy has delivered results, and through NWSC, a good number of Bushenyi youths have secured employment.
On legislation, the core duty of an MP, Hon. Annet has excelled across the board. On the floor of Parliament, she has consistently raised matters of national importance, most notably the plight of tea farmers in and outside Bushenyi, and pushed for rural electrification. Her work on the Education Committee has been pivotal in shaping sector reforms. In appropriation, representation, and oversight, she has delivered. Above all, she has stood with her people in times of joy and hardship alike.
As she takes the oath for another five-year term, the call to Bushenyi is clear. To those who opposed her return: what Bushenyi needs now is not politics of exclusion, but unity behind a proven leader for the progress of our model district. To those who voted for her: you chose progress. There was no better decision Bushenyi could have made than voting Hon. Annet.
