Bushenyi,Uganda – Bushenyi was filled with joy today, 14th September 2026, as friends organized a colourful surprise birthday party for Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha at Tuzza Hotel.
The party was organized by his close friends including Amumpaire Babra, Tina Christine, Mr. Sam Kiggundu the Manager of NWSC Bushenyi, Hillary Igambiine the Assistant RDC, and Dr. Katate, who came together in a spirit of unity, love and hard work.
The celebration was graced by business people, politicians, youth, NWSC staff and many other friends who came to congratulate him.
Speaking at the function, the Deputy RDC Bushenyi, Mr. Donanto Kasigazi, described Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha as a brilliant man who has inspired many people both directly and indirectly, especially the youth. He said government considers him a role model and that despite his busy schedule, he has never forgotten the people of Bushenyi.
“He is a humble, wise, hardworking and God-fearing leader whose heart is full of love for his people. He is a true son of Bushenyi and a role model to this generation,” Kasigazi said.
The Guest of Honour, Hon. Annet Katusiime Mugisha, the Bushenyi District Woman Member of Parliament and wife to Dr. Mugisha, thanked the organizing committee for the surprise. She revealed that Dr. Mugisha was not aware of the celebration.
“Yesterday his children surprised him with a family lunch, and today friends have done it again. That is how he is. If we told him we were preparing a birthday, he would not attend. For him, work comes first. He does not think about himself. He thinks about others, family and work,” Hon. Katusiime said.
She added, “Today we are not only celebrating another year of Dr. Silver’s life. We are celebrating a life of purpose, sacrifice, service and impact.” She narrated how they met when he was 26, fresh from university, while she had just a certificate from a teachers’ college. Despite coming from humble backgrounds, he immediately started strategizing on how to support their siblings, the church and the community.
“His greatest strength is that he does not live for himself. He believes true leadership is not about what you receive, but about what you give,” she said.
In their message, the friends described Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha as a rare, selfless and visionary leader whose humility, generosity and wisdom have touched countless lives.
“Dr. Silver is a father to many, a mentor to the youth, a pillar to his friends and a true patriot. He is humble in character, strong in principle and big in heart,” the friends said.
They said they embrace love, hard work and togetherness and condemn division and hatred. They also thanked Hon. Annet Katusiime Mugisha for her service to Bushenyi, citing her lobbying for the Ishaka-Mbarara road, the industrial hub and USMID projects among others.
The celebration ended with cutting of the cake, joy and warm wishes for more years of health, wisdom and service to Bushenyi and Uganda at large.
