NSIKA, BUHWEJU — Buhweju District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Nnamara Annet Oyes Byamukama, popularly known as Omuteganda, has officially endorsed the Chief of Defence Forces and Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, to become the next President of the Republic of Uganda in 2031 and beyond.
Hon. Nnamara made the declaration on Friday, 18th September 2026, while mobilizing for the endorsement of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the founder of the Patriotic League of Uganda, in Nsika, Buhweju District.
The legislator called upon all her supporters and all Ugandans who love development, peace and security to join her in endorsing Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, alias Gen. MK.

Omuteganda said Gen. Muhoozi has proven his capacity and mandate through distinguished service in various positions in the mighty Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), demonstrating discipline, patriotism and a commitment to national stability.
She urged all Ugandans who believe in the fight against corruption, socio-economic transformation, youth empowerment, and transparent leadership to endorse Gen. MK.
The Mission of PLU:
Hon. Nnamara re-echoed the core mission of the Patriotic League of Uganda as a patriotic civic movement under the National Resistance Movement (NRM). Its key priorities include:
1. Fighting corruption and promoting accountability in public service.
2. Ensuring transparent and people-centred leadership starting at the grassroots.
3. Protecting peace, security and national unity.
4. Championing socio-economic transformation, youth employment and service delivery.
5. Preserving the gains of the NRM liberation struggle while mentoring a new generation of patriotic leaders.
In her remarks, Hon. Nnamara also thanked the Commander-in-Chief, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for nurturing and mentoring Gen. Muhoozi, and praised the First Lady, Maama Janet K. Museveni, for raising great heroes for the nation.
She further requested Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba to visit his growing support base in Buhweju District to interact with his supporters.
Omuteganda also called upon the Minister for Local Government in the Cabinet of Uganda, Hon. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, to visit Buhweju District again as part of his nationwide anti-corruption and accountability campaign.
About Minister Balaam’s Drive:
Hon. Balaam Barugahara is currently leading a robust national accountability drive, traversing districts across Uganda to expose mismanagement of public resources, enforce interdiction of corrupt officials, and promote value for money in government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM). His operations have already led to arrests and interdictions in several districts, including Sironko.
The Buhweju endorsement was held under the joint slogan: “NRM, PLU; Tuko Pamoja” — emphasizing that PLU is not against NRM, but works hand-in-hand with it to ensure steady progress for Uganda.
