Bushenyi,Uganda – Preparations for the Bushenyi District Youth Day celebrations slated for 7th November 2026 at Bushenyi Municipality Grounds have officially kicked off.
Bushenyi District Youth Chairperson, Mr. Atwine Bruce, confirmed the development in an exclusive interview, stating that the youth leadership has resolved to push the agenda until the main day.
“We have officially started pushing the agenda for Bushenyi District Youth Day celebrations until 07th November 2026,” Atwine said.

He attributed the momentum and unity among the youth to the patronage of Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha, whom he described as a pillar for the youth in Bushenyi.
“During the time of Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha as Patron of Bushenyi Youth, we as young people have been given space to talk, to be heard, and to position ourselves. He has supported us, branded us, and believed in us as youth leaders. That is a legacy we must fight to protect, so that even the generations to come will find good leadership that understands and supports them,” Atwine stated.
He added that Dr. Mugisha’s support has gone beyond titles to tangible action.
“Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha has not only been a patron in name, but in action. He has stood with the youth of Bushenyi through mentorship, guidance, and material support whenever we have called upon him. His open-door policy has made every young person feel valued and listened to.”
“Through his leadership, many youth have been empowered to start small projects, to speak confidently on issues affecting our communities, and to believe that Bushenyi can be transformed by its own young people. He has shown us that true leadership is about lifting others,” he said.
According to Atwine, the Youth Day celebration itself is a product of Dr. Mugisha’s vision for an organized, empowered and united youth that contributes to wealth creation and sustainable development.
“We are proud to be associated with a leader who invests in the future. The Bushenyi Youth Day is a product of his vision. We pledge to carry this vision forward,” he noted.
The Youth Chairperson commended his executive led by Samuel Nkamwesiga Kironde, his committee members and the entire Bushenyi youth leadership fraternity for launching the preparations with energy and commitment.
In his closing remarks, Atwine called upon all youth in the district to turn up in large numbers.
“The youth of Bushenyi are blessed to have a leader like Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha. I thank the Almighty God for his life and for giving us a patron who loves and believes in us. May God continue to bless him, protect him, and reward his good heart for the youth. I call upon all youth to keep the momentum and turn up in big numbers to make Bushenyi Youth Day memorable.”
“The struggle is for the youth, and the youth is the future,” he concluded.
