Ankole,Uganda – Bushenyi district qualified for the Ankole Cup 2026 on Saturday, July 11th, 2026, after a goalless draw with Sheema district in a heavily contested match. The game was played at Kabwohe playground. Sheema district needed a win to qualify for the next stage, but opportunities did not favor them.
After all four games in Group A, Bushenyi topped the group with 6 points and no losses. Ntungamo secured 5 points with one loss and also qualified, while Sheema district finished with 3 points, having no wins but one loss against Ntungamo district.
In other groups, Kiruhura District qualified from Group B with 6 points, and Rwampara qualified from Group C with 9 points. Rubirizi district has also qualified from Group D with 7 points, awaiting the outcomes from three other groups.
