RUBIRIZI – Atleast 1,000 households have benefited from the Small Water Harvesting tanks project in Rubirizi district.
This project was started by Rubirizi District Woman MP Hon Kesande Grace Bataringaya with support from her friends in order to sort the problem of water shortage in the district.
According to a report, there have been families in Rubirizi district which cannot even afford to buy a jerrycan of water due to low income earning status.
Most of the beneficaries are the needy including the elderly, Persons with Disabilities, Widows among others.
Speaking about the project, Hon Kesande Grace said these tanks will help people harvest water especially during rainy seasons and will cover the whole district.
We reached at the office of the district Woman MP and found other 500 small tanks ready to be given to people in various parts of the district.
