BUSHENYI, UGANDA – Independent candidate Twinomugisha Edwin “Ikondere” has officially launched his campaign for the Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality Member of Parliament seat.
Running as an independent with the symbol of a light bulb, Twinomugisha launched his campaign on Monday, November 10, 2026, in Town Ward, Ishaka Division, Bushenyi District. On the first day of campaigning, he addressed residents at several locations including Basajjabalaba, Ishaka Town, Lagos, Kabiriti, and Kikuubo—all within the Town Ward.
Addressing his supporters, Ikondere urged Ugandans to vote wisely, emphasizing the need for leaders who understand the challenges facing the people and can seek viable solutions. He is currently touring other parts of the municipality to rally further support.

Twinomugisha faces stiff competition from several candidates, including NRM’s Iddi Basajjabalaba, and independents Twahika Denis Enjoki, Nickolas Ndyakira, and Tukundane Casbart.
The Parliamentary election campaigns, officially launched by the Electoral Commission on November 10, will continue as candidates seek support ahead of the January 15, 2026 election.
