Kasese, Uganda – Hon. Cadet Benjamin Buturo, NRM flag bearer for Bunyaruguru Constituency, has lauded the Church for its pivotal role in promoting unity, peace, discipline, and love in Uganda. He made the remarks during the 90th birthday thanksgiving mass of his uncle, Emeritus Bishop Egidio Nkeijanabo, held at Kasese Catholic Diocese.
The celebration, attended by hundreds of Christians, family members, and dignitaries, including Emeritus Chief Justice Hon. Bart Katureebe, highlighted Bishop Nkeijanabo’s lifetime of service. Hon. Cadet Benjamin praised the Church for bringing communities together and guiding Ugandans spiritually and morally. He thanked the Christians of Kasese for celebrating his uncle’s gift of life and 90 years of faithful service.
Emeritus Chief Justice Bart Katureebe, a younger brother to Bishop Nkeijanabo, urged church leaders to train professional medical staff to care for retired religious leaders. He hailed his brother’s lifelong discipline, deep faith, and love for God, which inspired respect and dignity in all who knew him.

Bishop Francis Kibira of Kasese Catholic Diocese commended the government under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for upholding freedom of worship, which has promoted peace and tolerance across the country. He thanked Bishop Egidio for his legacy of love and evangelism and called on Ugandans to honor and care for their parents.
