Bushenyi, Uganda – Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality aspiring Member of Parliament, Hajji Iddi Basajjabalaba, urged the Ugandan Muslim community to maintain the discipline they demonstrated during Ramadan.
He spoke after Eid ul-Fitr prayers at Basajjja Mosque in Ishaka town, Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality, on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
Hajji Iddi Basajjabalaba emphasized that discipline is key to receiving God’s blessings. He congratulated Muslims on completing the fasting period and advised them to continue trusting in Allah as the provider of all things.

Eid ul-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, is a significant celebration for Muslims worldwide.
It signifies the culmination of a month-long fast and the start of Shawwal, the tenth month in the Islamic (Hijri) calendar. Muslims observe two Eids annually: Eid ul-Fitr, concluding Ramadan, and Eid al-Adha, celebrated on the 10th, 11th, and 12th of Dhul Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic year.
Eid ul-Fitr, meaning “the festival of breaking the fast,” is a time of joy, celebration, and gratitude for completing Ramadan. Muslims typically attend Eid prayers, spend time with loved ones, and share festive meals. It’s also a time to reflect on blessings and remember those less fortunate. The day emphasizes increased worship and devotion, expressing happiness and gratitude to Allah.
End.
