Mitooma, Uganda – Mitooma District Council has approved the creation of several new administrative units at the sub-county, town council, and parish levels.
The resolution was passed during a heated meeting held on Friday, March 28th, 2025, at the district council hall in Mitooma Town Council.
The meeting, chaired by District Speaker Mr. Tumwekwatse Moses, and attended by District Chairman Mr. Karyeija Benon and councilors from all parishes and sub-counties, highlighted the need for improved service delivery through the creation of these new units.

The proposed new units include Bitereko Sub-County, Rurehe Town Council, Kirambi-Ijumo Town Council, Kanyabwanga Town Council, and Nyakishojwa Sub-County.
Additionally, several new parishes will be created by splitting existing ones within Rukararwe and Kirembe in Katenga Sub-County. These will include Rubumba and Nyaruzinga Parishes.
However, the implementation of this resolution is contingent upon the Ugandan government lifting its current ban on the creation of new administrative units. The council awaits the government’s decision before proceeding.
End.

Creation of new administrative isn’t bad bt the problem is one, evn the existing onesits people are not getting servives as it should be.
