RUBIRIZI – Police in Rubirizi district have started hunting for assailant(s) who allegedly murdered a 51 Year Old man.
The incident happened during the night of 2-3rd February 2025 at Nyabubare Trading Center, Kyabakara Sub County in Rubirizi district.
The deceased is Atungire Mutungi 51 years a resident of Katehe Cell, Nyabubare Parish, Kyabakara Sub County in Rubirizi District.
It’s reported that the deceased left his home on 2nd February 2025 at around 7pm and never returned and on 3rd February 2025 morning when he was found dead lying by the roadside in Nyabubare Trading Center.
Police was informed and a case file was opened vide Kyabakara SD ref 02/03/02/2025 for further actions.
A team of investigators visited the scene and Canine was introduced to the scene but it could not do much as the scene was already tampered with.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident stressing that the body was conveyed to Rugazi Health Center IV for postmortem as police inquiries continue.
