BUSHENYI – Security Operatives in Bushenyi district are hunting for suspected thieves who broke into Kashenyi Healthy center 2 stores in Ishaka Division, Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality stealing drugs worth Millions of shillings on Thursday night.
According to Olivia Nabaasa a midwife at the facility,
thugs broke through the front door of the facility and stole government drugs and other items.
According to the facility chairperson Mr Moses Kamuntu,they were shocked to find drugs stolen yet a number of patients had flocked the facility this morning to seek medical care but were asked to go back home since there was no stock.
He asked Municipal authorities to beef up security operations at kashenyi health center 2 where he said there is only one private security guard with a walking stick yet the facility is equipped with expensive drugs meant for human care.
Speaking to the press, William Katsigazi Deputy RDC Bushenyi district said apparently they are hunting for the said thugs who ran away with government property in form of human drugs stolen from the facility.
He said they have two security guards who were on duty over the night in police cells to help in investigation thus appealing to the general public to report whoever will be seen selling government drugs saying it’s putting taxpayers money to a waste.
