MITOOMA – The Vice President of Uganda Her Excellency Maj Jesca Alupo has commended the west Ankole diocese leadership for its tremendous support in preaching gospel of development and unity which has led to steady progress with in this region.
The vice president made the remarks on Saturday 5th October 2024 while speaking as the guest of honour at the launch of the history book of Mitooma zone since the arrival of Christianity after marking 100 years of existence a function that was held at Mitooma archdeaconary in Mitooma Towncouncil Mitooma district.
She noted that the stables leadership of the diocese and the good preachings of work and unity has created tremendous development hence giving a support hand to the government in developing the area.
Speaking on the same function, the internal Affairs Minister Maj Gen Kahinda Otafiire called on Christians to embrace unity and love for one another if they are to develop themselves without any segregation.
Meanwhile,Ven Can Rev James Kariisa ,the Archdeacon Mitooma archdeaconary who is also the Mitooma zone chairperson noted that they have successfully launched their history book since Christianity arrived in Mitooma district and they have also collected money to continue the construction of the memorial church.
