RUBIRIZI – A motorcycle rider and a passenger have passed on after being involved in an accident along Katunguru-Ishasha road in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The accident involved motorvehicle UAA 036J Mercedes Benz truck of Cocoa driven by Bagenda Twarihata 58 years and motorcycle registration number UFY 741 H Bajaj boxer.
The rider of the motorcycle Cubariho Sam and passenger Kansiime Naume both residents of Katunguru town, Katwe Kabatoro Division, Kasese district died on spot and their bodies were taken to Rugazi Health Center IV pending postmortem.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirms the incident revealing that the motorcycle rider lost control and rammed into the truck which was heading to Kihihi side coming from Katunguru.
The scene of the accident was visited by District Traffic Officer Rubirizi IP Twebaze Richard and both the motorcycle and motorvehicle are now parked at Kicwamba Police Station pending I.O.V inspection
