RUKIGA – The territorial police in Rukiga have in custody a 33 year old Aguma Arinaitwe allegedly for criminally trespassing in the home of Bruce Mucunguzi.
The suspect is a casual worker at Drake Katabazi’s home and hails from Bushenyi district.
It’s alleged that on the 18/09/2024 at around 11am, the suspect knowing that the husband of Penina Katushabe one Bruce Mucunguzi had gone for his usual work (power saw operator), he went to meet his “lover” in her house.
Not knowing that Penina had earlier called him not to come because the husband had come back but he didn’t pick her call, he proceeded and immediately opened the door as usual and descended on the bed knowing that Penina was there alone.
To his surprise he had removed his gumboots and jumped on the bed, Bruce heard an intruder who was trying to touch him and he immediately made alarm and Arinaitwe was arrested in the bedroom ready handed by Bruce after a small struggle. He called the neighbors to witness, who later called police and whisked him away from the angry mob who wanted to Lynch him.
The Kigezi Police spokesperson Asp Elly Maate confirmed this incident stressing that a team of police officers responded to the scene and rescued the suspect though inquiries are still at hand.
