BUSHENYI – Kashenyi Model Primary school in Bushenyi district has on Saturday 19th October 2024 celebrated its 100th year of service.
The celebrations were held in the school compound in Kashenyi ward, Ishaka Disvision, Bushenyi – Ishaka Municipality under the theme “celebrating the past embracing the future”.
Bushenyi district Woman Member Of Parliament Honourable Katusiime Mugisha represented the chief guest Hon Minister Joyce Kaducu (state minister for primary education) and thanked the NRM government for supporting education sector.
Others on the function were Bushenyi – Ishaka Municipality Member Of Parliament Hon Derrick Kabuura, Mayor Richard Byaruhanga among others.
The Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality Member Of Parliament Hopeful Hajji Iddi Basajja was also represented by Ishaka Division Chairman Mukyenga Deus who asked parents to educate their children if they want to see a better tomorrow.
Hajji Iddi Basajjabalaba and ElHajji Hassan Basajjabalaba contributed shs 1 million and 2 million respectively towards the construction of the Kashenyi Model Primary School Centenary Building.
Mr Elias Mparana, Chief organiser of the celebrations and chairperson Kashenyi Model Ps Old Boys and girls thanked all the stakeholders for supporting the school and vowed to continue lobbying for more support such that the school shines. He revealed that primary treasury reports indicate that atleast shs 120 million has been collected towards the fundraising for the construction of the centenary building.
Mr Ahimbisibwe Christopher, Headmaster Kashenyi Model Primary School thanked parents and all well wishers who are supporting the school and vowed to continue working hand in hand with all the school committees to make sure the school excels.
