BUSHENYI – The Special Presidential Advisor on Public Relations Canon Mary Karoro Okurut has revealed that there is a need to increase the budget for Uganda’s Health Department by Parliamentarians and other responsible authorities.
Canon Mary Karoro Okurut was speaking to mourners at the burial Ceremony of Evelyne Kyobutungi in Igorora LC1, Nyamiko, Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality in Bushenyi district.
Evelyn Kyobutungi, wife to Mugizi Johnson is a reknown medical personnel who passed on last weekend and has been burried on Monday 21st October 2024.
“Let me tell you Hon Annet Mugisha and your fellow MPs if you dont increase the budget for health, you will have betrayed Ugandans because people are seriously suffering due to high charges to access health services and you are the ones involved in the budgeting process”, Karoro said.
Karoro said its a need for Ugandans to have quality health services but most of them are failing due to high cost like a “cancer testing machine is in Nairobi and people are really suffering to to receive services”.
The burial ceremony has attracted various categories of people from all parts of Uganda including Members Of Parliament, Municiaplity Mayor, district councilors among others.
