NATIONAL – In efforts to strengthen cancer care,experts from the Uganda Cancer institute have embarked on free out reaches to communities in Mbarara district to screen and increase awareness among the population.
Dr. Philmone Onyabiyo, an expert at Uganda Cancer Institute, told our reporter that the two-week program began today at Kagongi Health Centre in Kagongi Sub County, aiming to extend its coverage to all health centers within Mbarara district.
On her part ,Magrete Ayebaare Rwebyambu, the District woman member of Parliament, encouraged residents to undergo cancer screening due to the increasing prevalence of the disease in the country.
