BUSHENYI – Two people have escaped with serious injuries in an accident that happened at Kitwe along Mbarara-Bushenyi Road.
The accident happened today Tuesday 17th December 2024 and involved motorvehicle UAS 187F Fuso Fighter white in colour an unknown motorclye.
The victims who were rushed to a nearby Health Facility are Turyasingura Vicent 29 years (rider) and Twongirwe Phiona 22 years both residents of Kashekuro in Sheema district.
Its alleged that the motorvehicle was from Bushenyi heading towards Mbarara side, as he was overtaking another motorvehicle he saw an oncoming vehicle, to avoid head on collision he got a motorcycle hit it lost control and it fell in a ditch.
The scene of the accident was visited by CPL Mugabirwe Allen and other officers who attributed the accident to reckless driving after recording statements from relevant witnesses.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident stressing that the motorvehicle was towed to Bushenyi Police Yard pending inspection.
