Kabwohe,Sheema – Seven people died and two others were seriously injured in a fatal road crash at about 6:30 a.m. on Friday, 25th April 2026, along the Mbarara–Bushenyi Highway at Rushara, Kabwohe, in Sheema Municipality.
The accident involved a black Toyota Fielder, registration number UA 702DL, traveling from Bushenyi toward Mbarara. The two survivors were rushed to ICOBI Hospital for treatment.
The deceased are believed to have been returning home after overnight prayers at St. Rose Catholic Church. The victims are reported to be from Rukinga, Kabingo, Kitooha, and Karushegu.
Traffic police responded promptly and have started investigations. The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.
The bodies were taken to Kabwohe Health Centre III mortuary for postmortem examination.
