NEWS – A 14 year old girl has perished in an accident at Kebisoni Omukatoma road in Rukungiri district.
The deceased is Faith Owembabazi a daughter to Kanyankole Edson resident of Ndama Nkamba cell, Northern ward, Kebisoni Town Council in Rukungiri district.
The accident happened on Monday 3rd June 2024 at around 2pm and involved a yellow motorvehicle UG 1697W Truck Komatsu driven by Mugisha Yasin and the victim (now deceased).
Its today when the driver was driving from the site located in Mabanga cell, Kebisoni Sub County using Ndama road and he collided with the deceased whom they alleged that she had mental disorder and have always crossed the road abruptly.
She was knocked by the front tyre of the engineering plant, then sustained injuries and was rushed to Nyakibale hospital by his father but moments later she was pronounced dead.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed this incident to our reporter and by press time the scene had already been visited by police and the vehicle was parked at police pending IOV inspection.
