The Deputy Inspector General of Government (IGG), Dr. Esther A. Okiria, has called on Chief Administrative Officers and Town Clerks to urgently mobilise all public officers to submit and update their personal data in preparation for the nationwide declaration of incomes, assets, and liabilities scheduled for April 2026.
Dr. Okiria emphasised that updating the Public Officers’ Register is a critical prerequisite for ensuring a smooth and credible declaration exercise.
She warned that delays in data submission could hamper compliance and affect the overall success of the process.
She praised local governments whose Inspectorate of Government Online Declaration System (IG-ODS) Focal Persons have already achieved high levels of updates, noting that this reflects strong leadership, effective internal coordination, and a firm commitment to upholding the Leadership Code Act.
