BUHWEJU – UGANDA
The recent elected woman member of parliament Buhweju District, Nnamara Annet Oyes Byamukama also known as Omuteganda hasn’t waited to be sworn in, but tirelessly carrying on the responsibility of upholding Buhweju with the education initiatives.
This is done under her “Go Back To School – Buhweju Community Transformation Initiatives Limited (𝗕𝗖𝗧𝗜) program”, that encourages Education, Incomes and Networking for a new Buhweju.
On Sunday February 9, 2026, more than 70 pupils and students from the primary, secondary, and University level met Hon Annet Oyes and discussed modalities on how they will all be incorporated into school at a lower cost and some on full bursaries.
The students had been identified by the help of her scheme of talent promotion in football through BCTI League and Music through Buhweju Musicians Association (BUMA) where Honourable discovered that many are talented but unable to attain education according to the sources.
For all students under her care, Hon Annet Oyes offers half and some full bursaries to help them attain education at schools available within Buhweju and the nearby neighboring districts.
“I don’t have enough money to waste, but i love to equip our young generation in Buhweju with the best gift of education, since knowledge is the best on the universe and if one attains a certain skill he/she can use it to earn a living in future”, she said
Hon Annet added saying that she connects her university students to the western campuses inconjuction with her through Networking like King Seasor University in Kabale.
