Ntungamo, Uganda – A heated exchange has erupted between Ruhaama County Member of Parliament Kamukama Benjamin Katangura and Winnie Twinomugisha over allegations of human trafficking and recruitment of girls to Saudi Arabia. Hon. Katangura has strongly denied the allegations, stating that the recruitment process was part of a project he initiated in his constituency to assist 200 girls in securing jobs in Saudi Arabia.
According to Hon. Katangura, 160 girls successfully boarded a plane to Saudi Arabia, while 30 others did not meet the requirements. He accused Winnie of making false allegations against him, despite benefiting from a similar recruitment process herself. Hon. Katangura revealed that Winnie had left the country with a valid visa and was aware of the company that procured her job.
The MP also disclosed that Winnie owes Rubaare Sacco 21 million shillings and had previously claimed she was fleeing the country due to impending arrest. Hon. Katangura advised Winnie to accept the outcome of investigations that cleared him of any wrongdoing and to stop making false claims. He cautioned her against involving national leaders and the NRM party in the matter.

Hon. Katangura concluded by stating that he would take legal action against Winnie and any other individuals who continue to make false allegations against him.
End.
