Heavy rains have hindered the campaigns of Hon Captain Mugabe Dononzio Kahonda, the incumbent MP for Ruhinda South Constituency in Mitooma District.
Kahonda, who has been an MP since 2026, controversially lost to Arthur Kazoora in the NRM primaries, with allegations of irregularities.
Scheduled to campaign in several areas, including Omukitugunda, Omukapera, Murambi, Kyakahamba, Akatoogo, Omukibate, Omukyato, Omukatekyere, Akagana, Omumisha, Omukashebeya, and Ekikokora, Kahonda was unable to reach all the areas due to the bad weather. As of 5 pm, he was still in Murambi, where he was welcomed by a large crowd despite the rain.

Voters expressed their support for Kahonda, citing his helpfulness at the family level, particularly in wealth creation and food security. One voter told our reporter, “We will wait for Hon Captain Mugabe Dononzio Kahonda because he is always there for us.” Kahonda urged his supporters to remain calm, assuring them that he is committed to their cause.

Riders waiting for Hon Kahonda.
