KISORO,UGANDA — Leaders of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) in Kisoro District have launched an endorsement campaign for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the preferred presidential candidate for Uganda in 2031.
The campaign was launched at the Mayor’s Gardens in Kisoro, where the PLU leader for Kigezi sub-region and former LCV Chairman for Kabale District, Nelson Nshangabasheija, joined members and supporters.
Kisoro District LCV Chairman Richard Ndyana, who is also the Publicity Secretary of PLU in Kigezi, said there is need to endorse Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba to ensure continuity of leadership.
The Minister of State for Defence and Veteran Affairs, Hon. Akifeza Grace Ngabirano, backed the move, saying PLU is determined to eradicate corruption and that Kisoro’s strategic location at the border of two countries is an additional reason to support continuity of leadership.
Meanwhile, Kisoro District Resident District Commissioner, Badru Sebyala, emphasized the need for deep cordiality as the country prepares for transition.
The Kisoro endorsement adds to similar mobilization drives by PLU structures across the country ahead of the 2031 presidential election.
