Kanungu, Uganda – A tragic accident occurred on August 30, 2025, at around 7:50 PM, along the Kihihi-Ishasha road in Kanungu district. A motorcycle, registration number UEX 495H, was traveling from Kihihi towards Ishasha at high speed when it knocked down a pedestrian, Nkwasibwe Kenneth, 43, a resident of Kabuga, Kihihi sub-county.
The rider, who has not been identified, fled the scene, leaving the motorcycle behind. The victim was rushed to Kihihi Health Center IV but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Police officers from Kihihi police station visited the scene, drew a sketch plan, and documented the incident.
The motorcycle has been impounded at Kihihi police station pending inspection, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend the rider. The cause of the crash is attributed to reckless riding by the motorcyclist.
