ISHAKA -A road accident along Kasese – Mbarara road has claimed lives of two people and two others are still nursing serious injuries.
The hit and run accident happened at around 10:30pm on Friday 14th June 2024 at Gaz Petro Station in Ishaka town, Bushenyi district.
The accident involved a yet to be identified motorvehicle and motorcycle bajaj boxer reg.no UFG 319E.
Its allegeged that the motorvehicle was from Kasese heading towards Mbarara direction and collided head on head with the mentioned motorcycle which was carrying four people including the rider, the victims were rushed to KIU Hospital for medication but two died on arrival.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime also confirmed this incident stressing that the suspected cause of the accident is over speeding.
By press time, the victims/deceased had not been identified and the motorcycle was parked at Ishaka Police Station pending inspection by IOV.
