RUBIRIZI – The Woman Member of Parliament for Rubirizi District, Hon. Arineitwe Jeniva Nalongo, together with her dedicated Team Nalongo led by Mr. Byamukama Innocent, has once again demonstrated her commitment to community development through generous donations to schools and places of worship.
As part of giving back to the community through Corporate Social Responsibility, Hon. Jeniva today supported three major institutions in the district.
At Mikonebiri Primary School in Munyonyi, Katerera, Hon. Jeniva donated *20 bags of cement and UGX 720,000 cash* towards the fundraising drive to complete classroom blocks and construction of latrines that were in poor condition. The school management said the support will go a long way in improving learning conditions.
Hon. Jeniva Nalongo also supported *Mushumba Catholic Church in Ryeru Sub-county with 20 bags of cement* to help Catholics complete the church building which had stalled, with Christians currently praying in a semi-complete structure.
In addition, Hon. Jeniva donated *UGX 200,000 cash to the Rubirizi Muslim Amirati Association* to support the organization of the Islamic Dalaasa in Rwemitagu, Rutoto Sub-county.
Speaking after the donations, Hon. Jeniva said her vision is to see a transformed community.
> “Schools and places of worship have a very big role in shaping people both spiritually and academically. Any person who does not fear God and is not educated cannot be useful in the community,” Hon. Jeniva said.
Team Nalongo reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting community development including schools, churches, mosques and health facilities to ensure the people of Rubirizi benefit and live a better life.
Team members noted that Hon. Jeniva always supports education and places of worship because they believe development starts with God and education.
> “A God-fearing and educated community is free from poverty,” the team said.
Religious leaders and residents thanked Hon. Jeniva Nalongo and Team Nalongo for their generosity and for being a leader who does not discriminate, supporting Christians, Muslims, schools and churches equally.
