BUSHENYI – The Woman Member of Parliament for Bushenyi District, Hon. Annet Katusiime Mugisha (Hon. KAM), has endorsed the Chief of Defence Forces and Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for the 2031 presidency.
Hon. Katusiime mobilized thousands of residents to Kizinda Playground in Bushenyi, where she led the official signing of PLU National Endorsement Books and an endorsement banner in support of Gen. Muhoozi’s presidential bid.
The function was graced by Hon. David Kabanda, Member of Parliament for Kasambya County and Head of the Office of the Chairman of PLU / Executive Secretary to the PLU National Chairman, as Guest of Honour.

The event was also attended by other Bushenyi leaders including Hon. Cohen Kyampene (Igara West), Hon. Hajji Iddi Bassajabalaba (Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality) and Hon. Michael Mawanda Maranga (Igara East Constituency), who joined residents in endorsing Gen. Muhoozi.
Also in attendance were NRM district leaders, the LCV Chairman Bushenyi District, youth and women leaders, opinion leaders and PLU coordinators from across Bushenyi’s three counties of Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality, Igara East and Igara West, who turned up in large numbers to sign.

While addressing the gathering, Hon. Katusiime said Bushenyi has always stood firmly behind President Yoweri Museveni, and as the country looks to the future, it is time to prepare and endorse the next generation of leadership.
“Today here at Kizinda Playground, we the people of Bushenyi have made our voice clear. We have supported Mzee Museveni and we shall continue to support him. But we are also looking to 2031 and we endorse our next leader, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, to take Uganda forward,” Hon. Katusiime said.
She praised Gen. Muhoozi as a disciplined soldier, a Pan-Africanist and a visionary leader who has contributed to regional stability and Uganda’s economic progress.
PLU coordinators said the exercise is part of a nationwide mobilization campaign aimed at collecting endorsement signatures across 146 districts. They clarified that PLU operates within the NRM framework and the endorsement does not replace support for President Museveni.
Hon. Katusiime, who facilitated the smooth running of the entire exercise, pledged to continue mobilizing across all 17 sub-counties and town councils, 72 parishes and 571 villages of Bushenyi to rally more residents, youth and women to endorse Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba and to strengthen both NRM and PLU structures on the ground.
