RUBIRIZI – A 20 year Old man has ended his ended his life by hanging in after a quarrel with his wife whose names are yet to be known.
The deceased is Nuwagaba Anthony a film hall operator resident of Kafuro 1B cell, Kirugu Parish, Kirugu Sub County in Rubirizi district.
The suicide incident was reported to police by Niwagaba Peter 37 years the area chairperson Local Council one who is a mukiga by tribe.
The incident follows a quarrel that developed between the deceased and his wife at around 1:00pm and attracted wife’s two male relatives Niwagaba Abdul Swamadu 22 years and Byaruhanga Nickolas 20 years, who came and started kicking, boxing and hitting the deceased with an iron bar.
Physically known neighbours came for rescue and later all people departed. However, Anthony (deceased) did not enter his house and was today morning at around 7am found handing by a tree branch using a piece of cloth.
Police was notified, a case of suicide by hanging was entered at Rubirizi CPS Vide Rbz DEF 04/2024 and a team of detectives led by D/Asp Akullu Freda District CID Officer visited the scene, examined, photographed and documented it.
By the time we wrote this story, two male suspects Niwagaba Abdul Swamadu and Byaruhanga Nicholas had been detained by police for interviews and the body of the deceased had beem conveyed to Rugazi Health Center IV for post mortem.
Our reporter contacted SSP Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson who confirmed the incident and revealed that their team is still inquiring about this matter.
