SHEEMA – A 28 year old man is being hunted by police in Sheema district for allegedly murdering his 70 year old biological father.
The suspect is Bitwire Julius who cut his father Tiburisiyo Bitwire to death on 07th May 2024 at around 08:30pm. Both the suspect and the deceased are residents of Kyabahija 2 cell, Kakindo Town Council in Sheema district.
Its alleged that on 06th May 2024, the suspect stole coffee of the deceased who went and reported the matter to Kakindo Police station and officers came the following day to arrest the suspect but unfortunately he took ofd and went into hiding.
The suspect came back while the deceased was eating supper with his grand children and he picked the panga and cut him to deatj before running away again to yet to be known destination. The matter was reported to police by Rwabuyanja Ednando 44 also a resident of the same adress.
Inquiries were instituted vide sd ref 13/7/5_2024 Kakindo police post, crime scene was visited by a team of homicide and soco plus other officers who documented it and also recorded statements from relevant witness. The body of the deceased was then taken to Kabwohe Health Center IV for postmortem.
The Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed this incident to reporters stressing that inquiries into this matter are still at hand. By press time, the suspect was still on run.
