MBARARA – Amos Gumisiriza, the Chairman of Kakoma cell in Kakoma ward, Mbarara city north division, is under scrutiny for allegedly misusing the village stamp to approve the sale of village council land.
Residents claim that Gumisiriza collaborated with village council members to sell two pieces of land owned by the council, located in Kakoma cell and Kabagarame trading center.
However, in a village meeting chaired by the Division Mayor on Tuesday at Kakoma Trading centre,Gumisiriza denied any involvement in the land sale, attributing the accusations to his opponents’ efforts to undermine his leadership.
On his part the Mbarara City North Division Mayor, Gumisiriza Kyabwisho, explained that police will investigate the matter thoroughly and promised to hold accountable those responsible for the land sale.
