RUBIRIZI – Mr Tumusiime Vicent Bamugaya,the director for Economic Monitoring and Research in the Office the President and also the executive director of Rural Initiative for poverty alleviation a non government organisation has donated an Eye test machine to Rugazi Health centre IV in Rubirizi district.
The 63 million shillings machine measures the eye’s ability to focus and help to determine the prescription.
Speaking shortly after receiving the machine at the health facility ,Dr Aidah Nakinga the Rugazi Health Centre IV said that the machine will help eye disease patients from in the district from traveling long distances to Mbarara to seek medical treatment.
Tumusiime Vicent Bamugaya, who donated the machine, asked hospital administrators to handle the machine with care so as to help those with eye diseases.
Meanwhile, Bruno Kikanshemeza,RDC Rubirizi said that the hospital is at the level of health cente 1V but it is over whelmed by the number of patients who come to seek for medical services every day .He therefore wants the government to elevate it to a district hospital.
The function was witnessed by district Leaders including Mr Kasagara Edward Chief Administrative Officer, Mr Aguba Silvester LC5 District chairperson, community, Dr tibenda district health officer among others.
